15-Minute Consultation: Free

Finding the right therapist is a part of the therapeutic process. During this consultation, you can ask me questions to assess whether I am a good fit. I will also obtain information to determine whether I best suit your therapy needs. I will let you know during the call if I am not the best fit.

Not every therapist is trained in every treatment modality. Just as you would not go to a cardiologist for a cold, the first step in the therapeutic process involves finding a provider with specialized training in the treatment you would benefit from. If I refer you to another specialist, it is not that something is wrong with you; I know that to reach your therapy goals, you may need a different modality or technique than what I can provide. Everyone can accomplish their goals, and finding the best-fit therapist is key to that success!

Finding a therapist who meets your needs requires exploring different providers to ensure you find the best fit for your goals and comfort. It can be discouraging to shop around for the best-fit therapist; however, finding the right provider is worth the effort!

Intake/Initial Session: $360

Before the Intake Session:
Prior to our first meeting, I will send you a questionnaire to gather important background information—such as your symptom history, current concerns, and factors that may improve or worsen your symptoms.

I collect this information ahead of time for two main reasons:

  1. Some people find it easier and safer to reflect and share in writing, which helps them clarify their thoughts and goals.

  2. It allows us to use our time more effectively during the first session so we can get started right away.

During the Intake Session:
The intake session typically lasts about 60 minutes. We will review the consent forms and discuss confidentiality. I want to ensure you fully understand the limits of confidentiality and feel informed about my practice policies. During this time, we will also review your background, explore your symptoms, and discuss your goals for therapy.

I understand that this first session can feel intimidating—you are opening up to someone you do not yet know and revisiting difficult moments. It is completely okay if you are not ready to share every detail right away. If we mutually decide that we are a good fit, we can take the time needed to build trust and explore your story at a pace that feels right for you. My hope is that you feel seen, heard, and not judged in our work together.

I also remind clients that finding the right therapist is important. It may take 2–3 sessions to determine whether the relationship feels like a good match—for both of us.

Follow-Up Sessions: $330

Following the intake, our sessions will focus on treatment planning tailored to your specific needs. This stage includes:

  • Education about emotions and how they impact your well-being

  • An overview of treatment options that align with your goals

  • Exploration of patterns that may be contributing to ongoing stress and anxiety

Once we have laid that foundation, we will begin building and practicing skills to help you move toward meaningful change and achieve your therapy goals.

Ongoing sessions are typically 53 minutes in length.

Late Cancellation and No-Show Fees:

I require a 24-hour notice for cancellations. If you cancel or miss an appointment without 24 hours notice, your credit card will be charged a cancellation fee of $200 for the intake session or $330 for follow-up appointments. Please note that I do not waive late cancellation or no-show fees.

In-Network Coverage

I am in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) in Texas and North Dakota. I am considered out-of-network for all other health insurance.

If you have a different insurance provider, please check with them to determine whether they offer coverage for out-of-network services. For out-of-network clients, I can provide a “superbill”—an itemized receipt of services—that you may submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement or to count toward your out-of-pocket maximum.

Because insurance plans vary widely, I recommend contacting your provider directly to understand your specific in-network and out-of-network benefits.

No Surprises Act

If you are uninsured or choose to self-pay, you are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate under the No Surprises Act. This estimate outlines the expected charges for your services. You will receive the Good Faith Estimate at the start of therapy, along with a financial consent form that clearly details all service fees. You will be asked to review and sign this form before treatment begins. This process is designed to ensure transparency and help you make informed decisions about your care.
